This post points to a very interesting discussion of a very scary poster.

I assume the RWE crowd would be fully supportive of the poster and the level of surveillance in England discussed in the thread. Except they would disagree that a free press is such a good idea -- it should be under Republican control to be truly responsible.

An interesting note on that. In an essay written during Eisenhauer's presidency, E.B. White mentions that the press is strongly controlled by the Republicans, and that Democratic candidates are given short shrift in the media. How things have changed in 50 years!

I always thought education would reduce property crimes, because if you make more money you have less reason to steal. But I never thought education would lesson the incidence of rape. I thought it was a crime like incest, that occurred across social strata. I'm curious about the studies. I think I'll try to look them up.
