As bad as that is I think all would likely have died without gas and just an assault. They had already proven that they were willing to die and willing to take all the prisoners with them. Worse though there looks to be quite a few more that are in tough shape. Tough position for the Russians at any rate.

They (Russia) never have been very good in situations like this. That is a gruesome story though. See....I don't want to hear details like that because it forces me to think about my own stand WRT Iraq. Its pretty easy to say lets toast a culture that are nameless and faceless from the comforts of my La-Z-Boy. Once I have to see or hear the details though it forces me to rethink. Thinking is not my strong suit <g>
