It all looks to me as those few (obligatory) seconds in every Roadrunner cartoon, where the Wile E. Coyote is hovering spread-eagled over the "equilibrium" (historical-PE ..., make your pick) level.

The more you change it, the more it stays the same. I'll be (Yes, I will) copying the whole of this thread, from its humble beginnings down to the very today. Just to be able to search for some more of the same. For instance my (infrequent) rants about "wth happened to manufacturing in US" (think it was summer 2000), "boys, watch the Japan banking sector" (same time or earlier).

What am I trying to say? I guess, Moby Dick is nothing compared to this whale.
