Win... Belafonte has been politically active for decades.. Very big in the Civil Rights marches (provided bail money for Martin Luther King..).. It's not that he criticized Powell Win... Why you refuse to understand that seems almost deliberate... It's HOW he criticized Powell.. by using racist analogies that impugned by Powell's accomplishments, and the Bush administration.. There were SO MANY other ways Belafonte could have used to criticize Powell.. But he chose one that is racist in every connotation... And people like you and others seem to think it's just "political".. Yeah.. it was definitely political .. that's a "No duh..." But IT'S GROSSLY RACIST as well.... This would never have risen to be an issue were it that merely Belafonte opined that Powell's position is being ignored by the Bush administration and that Belafonte expects more of him... Hell, that happens even to white guys in office who are ignored in favor of another office... But no.. he has to imply Powell's an "uncle tom" and that the Bush administration is populated by nothing but "cracka's"... And Belafonte knows he was wrong.. which is why he's trying to "buddy up" to Powell again. But Harry's also to "proud" and arrogant to recognize that his words were so blatantly racist... Either that, or he doesn't believe what he said was racist... And that only supports my contention that Harry is a racist himself... Hawk
