Not true at all, Ed.

Examples of global leaders - superpowers, really - that have arisen under the proud banner of [effective/implicit] anarchism would include such economic and industrial powerhouses as Somalia, Sudan, and - at various times - Afghanistan, for all practical purposes.

Ah, that we might emulate the marvels of medicine, engineering, and science - let alone the phenominal impact on the quality of life - those and various nations like them have produced.

There, leadership is available to whoever at a given moment has the most armed men, ammunition, and the truest aim. All of which, I should add, are awfully hard to muster when one spends a good deal of time immersed in political gedanken experiments, engorged with gourmet coffee and fast food.

Re: The USA has an existing working system, not perfect, but capable of being improved. It has survived the turmoil of the 19th and 20th centuries. Rest assured, in spite of Enron and the rest, we will survive the 21st century as well.
