You assumed my comment implied the US would control the fields........I don't know or care. It may very well be the Kurds. And they have one heck of an incentive to pump dump and sell. Who ever controls the oil has an incentive to pump and sell a whole lot more than Sadam has over the past decade. The oil will flow and impact the demand/supply balance. This is probably one reason Russia would prefer we stay out of Iraq. Russia has a vast oil network they are trying to develop and exploit. The last thing they and some other gulf states want is major oil flow out of Iraq.
