Hi Michael,

KOPN had the same comment about inventory issues. It make you wonder if the conclusion some drew is right about the up tick in wireless handset components being only due to manufacturers ramping for the Christmas season. If there is still inventory in the channel putting pressure on ASP of wafers for forward agreements, what happens if sales of handsets fall flat during the holiday season.

We are definitely not out of the woods yet. Interesting the telecom stocks that were left for dead link DIGL, FIBR and TXCC have managed to up tick. It may mean the move in the telecom equipment and related sectors are over for now. They need good news to move the group higher from here. Given the guidance from a lot of the companies for a sequential down Q4 if not 2003, I don't know where that comes from.

It looks like the LED market is getting crowded too. CREE, KOPN, AXTI and a host of others. KOPN's comment was the blue light LED's was they are growing 40 percent per year and industry sales are currenly $1.5 billion annually. It is supposed to grow to 4.5 billion in a few years. Cut that in half and we are probably closer to the truth. Given that this is the case and where the current industry sales are at are we approaching saturation???

What is your read on AXTI management? Are they too straight forward for their own good or are they too optimistic given current environment.
