Interesting thought on the IRS since I know when doing land contracts or such with a family member you have to charge an IRS minimum interest which right now is likely higher then you could get from the bank. I believe it is assumed the lender is receiving that interest whether they are or aren't. Of course that would be bullish for IBM wouldn't it?

I actually received a rather forceful e mail from a friend of mine telling me I didn't understand the economics of this because it allows IBM to keep plants open and saves them money by turning inventory. I am thick I guess because either IBM has borrowed money on the books they could be paying off rather then borrowing it to someone else at no charge or they have left over cash that could be invested somewhere turning some sort of return and isn't because they are giving it to someone else at no charge.

Perhaps that is why I bend tin and did not become an accountant.
