LC. Your description of how islam came about is pretty much what I have learned. I think where we differ is in whether islam is a dangerous cult...I believe that it is and I believe that those moslems that murdered so many on Sept 11 were following their quran to the letter. Not all moslems are nut cases but all of them read and live by the quran on a daily basis. It is not an easy thing to denounce ones own religion but in islam it is almost impossible so if and when the sh*t hits the fan all those so called moderate moslems will likely fight on the side of their religion. We have just had an example of the terror one crazed moslem with a gum can create. Is there more comming? how many moderates will decide that they would like a greater reward in paradise and decide to murder infidels.? You said..." Thats a bit weak Lorne. It's a matter of history, that at various times the US supported both Bin Laden and Sadam. When they got to big for their collective britches Uncle Sam pulled the plug on them. Reason enough I guess to create some animosity."..... All countries make mistakes with who they take on as allies. Most times an ally will be another country with borders and an economy. The big mistake was forming any alliance with a 1.5 billion strong religious cult who hate everything we stand for. This mistaken friendship has created the opportunity for islam to get into our countries and set up shop. Now they are in our societies and all we have to do is decide which ones we can trust. Look around the world. How many conflicts are the result of aggression by moslems. How many innocent people die each day at the hands of moslems?
