Maurice, I think you're twisting yourself into a pretzel to avoid the obvious interpretation, you love death better than life if you really, truly believe that you'll go to Paradise. The Islamist ideology is pitched to true believers. When you become a martyr, the Allah-promised day of victory for The Cause comes closer, and you collect the 70 black-eyed virgins in paradise. That's what I call a win-win situation -- if you really believe.

That slogan about loving death more than I love life has no meaning within it and if the words are logically followed, their continued existence for a second proves it false

Nah, suicide is strictly forbidden. Suicides go to Hell. You have to become a martyr to collect for sure, and get the bonus houris.

The bit about their "loving death more than the West loves live" is just brainwashing propaganda invented by the Mullah's and others behind the scenes planning suicide attacks (while never sending their own kids to do such dirty work, understand.)

It's exactly akin to Wall Street's "buy and hold" mantra, or "Uncle Sam Needs You". Get suckers behind the concept so the inventors of the slogans can attain the power they can't attain honestly.

Hitler was a master at inventing such propaganda, and unlike the Mullah's was forthright enough to write up his reasoning in Mein Kampf - a book almost completely full of total inanities, but on this point it was an illuminating look at the thinking.

The Islamists have read and admired Hitler, though the ideas were hardly hatched yesterday.

It's difficult to over estimate the sheer Machiavellian cynicism that can lurk behind "religious thinking".

bin Laden was never seeking a martyr's death - he was a terrorist clown who thought Past Performance Predicts Future Results. The Taliban were in a state of denial well into the Afghan campaign and continued to stupidly believe that the USA would never topple their tinpot regime.

Human nature through and through in short.
