Now we're getting somewhere. <The United Nations should be reformed. It should grant just one membership -- it can be a permanent member of the Security Council -- for "Europe." There should be no separate U.N. membership for the member states of the EU, any more than there is for Ohio.> Well, that's a start, but really just rearranging a few chairs. Something a lot more fundamental is needed. For France or Britain to be two of the Big 5 is silly when India, Japan and Germany are also-rans. WWII was two generations ago and fewer participants are alive. Those who are can be considered irrelevant. It's time to start with a blank sheet of paper or a blank screen. Mqurice
