Lydia Bailey, Rabble in Arms, Boone Island--they're all classics. I read them when I worked in the North East, and it really brought the country to life.

Northwest Passage and Rabble in Arms are my favorites. Oilver Wiswell may be the only Kenneth Roberts novel that I have not read. I stopped by my local Borders last night and was pleased to see that most of the novels are still on the shelves. I used to be able to recite chunks of dialogue from the movie Northwest Passage. Not very PC.
