Bill, you are right! I, too, have seen many people who retire and then kick the bucket soon after. This is especially true of a good number of teachers in England where, at one time, it was practically impossible for them to buy life insurance. The premiums were sky high!

I don't think it was just blood clots that killed the retirees. More likely the cumulative effects of stresses over the years coupled with boredom and a sense of not having achieved much to be proud of = low self-esteem) did them in sooner than later. Also, idleness and lack of exercise, overeating and excessive drinking often brought on obesity, diabetes and heart and kidney problems that killed them fast.

Yesterday, I was up in the mountains surveying the awesome landscape and cityscape below. Today I will be driving to another place to capture the last of autumn glory with my Nikon FE2 and Tamron SP 35-105mm F2.8 lens. Tomorrow I will be playing chess etc. For me, I have my two hands full but I enjoy every minute of it!
