Future time factor. Development will result in production 3-5 years from now, and exploration in projects beyond that. Hopefully, gold prices will be higher then. Besides one needs to replace reserves regardless of the gold price or eventually go out of business, which returns nothing to shareholders. No one ever said mining was an easy business.
