I just got this email from a friend. His daughter is in college. Do you, or does anyone, have some suggestions?

Amy has to select a paper topic for one of her courses
about a child in a literary work who has significant
psychopathology. It should be something familar if
possible. I'm drawing a blank. If you have any
suggestions her deadline is 1 PM.

Edit: I recently read (listened to) Richard Ford's Independence Day. And a couple of years ago, Doris Lessing's The Fifth Child. Any thoughts about those? Independence Day is a very long book, and about many other things. The Lessing, everyone will have thought of, I think.

Great. BTW, I meant to ask you something about Prufrock. But I don't know where I came across that post...

I also like that. Why do YOU like it?
