I'm not sure AOL was ever the problem...Time Warner is just some super conglomerate twisted hunk of metal...they don't want progess fundamentally...they holding on to the past with all of their license revenues and fear about progression of the internet...

Internet progress is not going to be an AOL type of business. Internet progress it is a retail add on as well as a benefit to connect two ends of a transaction.

If I were Turner I would spin AOL off so fast it would make your head Spin.

Progress is purpose i see it all over the net especially in my old field. Work would be a breeze today in the area of presentations. Suppliers are on line products are visible and this is dollar transaction business. About all i would of needed was some form of software that could of tied the pieces from here and there together into a total visual package. The cost savings to me would of amounted to a significant savings on rendering as well as board time. Bad news however is two people would not of had jobs in my immediate field.

For me as i try to call the economy is that suppose to translate to two software programmers in other nations now do? is that suppose to mean that if the program is MSFT that i pay each year to license it as it's cost reduces my cost of labor. Then i wonder if that means MSFT will be doing significant hiring ot make up the slack. I am wandering in this post but it is all very pertinent to the direction of our own economy. If you have surplus labor you have competition in labor and there of a reduction in labor costs. Or does this mean growth in the back bone area of the net will soon be creating more jobs.

Answer is yes as well as no as part of those jobs are going to be created in another country.

I think Turner is the only hope for AOL - AOL.
