Col. King insisted that there was no redundancy in having a CIA special operations force on hand to perform functions that might be handled by non-clandestine military units. But he acknowledged that, early in the Afghan campaign last year, there was a lack of coordination between the two groups. Good find, CB. I had read that the CIA groups were not trained at calling in Air strikes, and that this caused initial problems. I think this is a conformation of that report.
