I take it you didn't read his resignation letter. It's provided in the link I gave. In it he discusses the many threats as well as addressing every point of contention item by item. The reason that science is the most sucessfull philosophy is that it is self-correcting. The claims are made, they are examined and rechecked. Right now the NRA is making the loudest biggest fuss they can over minor discrepencies, but the whole issue will be rechecked, you can count on it.
