I should have limited my comments to the true-believing Islamic whack-jobs who believe that their murderous actions will inexorably lead them to Paradise and dozens of doe-eyed beauties. As I have said before, the Chechnya situation is unique in that strong nationalistic impulses are at work. These are not present in the terrorists whose only motivation is religious. Since we are as dust to the religiously motivated whack-jobbers, they deserve no mercy. I can't say the same for the Chechens, though I admit that I'm not up to snuff on that particular issue.
