W came into office noting the "reward" that Clinton had achieved for his efforts. When Clinton left office, Arafat called him up and said to him, "You're a great man.", to which Clinton replied "The hell I am. I'm a colossal failure, and you made me one." (this is Clinton's version of the story, as told to Newsweek).

Clinton and W have a basic philosophical difference on foreign policy. Clinton believed in bribing his enemies and bullying his allies. W. believes in rewarding his allies and bullying his enemies. We shall see which is more effective long-term (I have my strong suspicions).

I wonder what they put in those newspapers in Europe? Apparently not that Bush publicly states that the US supports a two state solution for Israel/Palestine.
