And inflate we did, it's been a debate for years, do we sit still and stand for the insolence of a hand full of masters who have tricked us out of our life savings so that we may become slaves in a monetary system that only they can control. ------------- We went off the gold standard mostly because it was to easy for the big gold holders to "fix" a price and force the little holders to buy and sell it on their terms. Now after inflating we find it's like an opium an economic opium , and one we can't live with out..so we are stuck with trying to figure how much is OK or what wil cause an overdose. We are like an addict to it, and like an addict we go into denial about how much we use, right on up to the top dogs, who don't even hesitate to lie about the amount. --------------- But I can't see us getting out of this huge, State, County and City retirement debt crunch with out paying some of it down with cheaper dollars, so it looks like good or not we are going to be stuck with upping the dose. They talk of SS being in trouble , but is that not to take focus off what Wall Street conned all the States into..it's a real mess, and behold most Government workers were allowed to op out of SS some years ago. ------------- Did you ever read the "Death of a salesman" Your idea about it being cheap life insurance has merit. But keep in mind Security is not in money or the market, no one is ever any more secure than their closest friend. People with good friends will always survive the worst economic turn downs, But like back in 63 when the world hung on the edge of destroying all progress and being sent back to the cave age, not even the leaders knew just how close we came, or how bad it would have been; not at the time. Many of them thought that even if the Bombs fell they would be OK.. Hell they would have been worse off before it was all over than the ones who vanished at ground zero. Jim
