Totally agree. IMHO, China should be thankful QCOM gave them a gift with a better than MFN CDMA royalty rate. Why they would waste their time with TD-SCDMA or even wCDMA is beyond me?

The fact that GI said it doesn't make it true. It's a bald assertion without logic or evidence to back it.

IMHO it is extremely unlikely that China would change over to TD-SCDMA. Why would they want to be stuck with a non-standard version of CDMA? The chances of the rest of the world changing to TD-SCDMA are ZERO.

Countries have done stupider things when it comes to setting telecom standards, including not having any at all and "letting the market decide". <g>

Does the Chinese government really care that much what standards the rest of the world adopts? I doubt it.
