Got to read Scandal PartIII in Fortune this week. It says one major corruption on WS are these "releases". He says one of the most essential matters needed to be cleaned up in this scam market is to outlaw between quarter updates(including warnings--as they are then used for "an earnings" surprise later when they beat the already reduced estimates).
Writer in Fortune says the whole "we are comfortable with" upcoming earnings or a warnings are all part of a deeply corrupted system that has immediately latched on to the FD rule to EVEN significantly INCREASE market manipulation.
The solution he says, NO statements between earning dates.
Man o man, "it's always something".Max
By the way the Scandal series in Fortune just reveals we are one bigtime dirty market. Enron didn't even scratch the surface of how dirty it is.
