It's a changing situation. Modern farming has almost done away with pheasants, quail and rabbits. Never had coyotes before but they have now killed most of the foxes. Never had ground hogs or wild turkeys but now we have them. Odd but ground hogs are good tree climbers.

Deer used to be in short supply. In 1957 they opened the deer hunting season and one deer was killed opening day. Now they kill 200k per year and Illinois has become the place to hunt for a BIG buck.

Times change. I'd like to see the pheasants make a come back but it will never happen.
