Gidday Jay. It was so funny when it was on again off again on again off again on again in the lead up to adopting CDMA. I'm sure there was news release 'insider' trading. There were $$$multibillion swings in market cap and the opportunity was huge. I would be amazed if it escaped their notice and some wave functions weren't introduced to profit from the possibility.

Of course I agree that free is better and paying for the privilege of selling in China would be another reasonable approach [an import tariff is in my opinion a valid way of financing a country's government as border protection and security against outsiders is the primary job of a government - apart from keeping order inside].

But you surely agree that I should try to get them to understand that 100% royalty would be reasonable for such a huge technological improvement over their current obsolescing GSM technology for which they would pay 15% royalty if they had any local manufacturing. It's my abidingly generous nature and love of China which makes me think a derisory 7% royalty for exports is reasonable. Some groveling appreciation would be in order really! Especially when 2% for internal use is gifted too.
