I see nothing in this that gives evidence of killing for conscience.

I long ago agreed that moral doctrine, loyalty to culture, or patriotic extremism could be at the core of fanatical acts of killing. A claim that such an act is for God can usually be reduced to cultural fanaticism.

If a child is raised by a mother who is deathly fearful of how she will fair if ever held in the hands of the Great Serpant of the West; he may well grow up with an intent to stand with honor against the evil dragon. If he is also cultured to despise the materialistic despotism of an all consuming mongor on the other side of the planet, he may plan noble acts in defense of their eventual arrival. If the same child is shown doctrine from God that he must with loyalty protect his righteous brethren from such monstrous creatures he may even with fore thought agree to a strategy to unseat the Western Satan through violence. This type of fanaticism is all qualified by the paragraph above. None of this is impacted by a consciencious choice, because the consciencious piece is the questioning, the doubting of what is the prescribed course or act. Conscienciousness is not a necessary element for the above to act against his perceived enemy.

Are you trying to force a square peg into a round hole?
