The Democrats are starting to unravel already. The Treason Lobby, the stale old "We'll TAX you into prosperity." theme, the lame attempts to revive the long-dead dinosaurs Mondale and Lautenberg, and now the bare beginnings of law enforcement actions against their vote fabrication machine, have started to finish off their 2002 effort.

In light of all this, as well as a tendency to believe their own historical revisionism, they have slipped way too far down the slippery slope of assumimg the American voter is a total idiot. Listen for them to sound more and more desperate as the next few days roll by, and they have to pull money out of one hopeless race after another to feed the ones where they still have an outside shot. New Jersey will suck up every dime they've got, so if you see a weekend "media rush" there, you can take it as a sign that all the other races are finally written off.

Nor can they look forward to 2004. The Bush landslide will sweep away another third of their Senators then, and they won't be able to buy a House seat outside those rigged-up Black Caucus districts...

But look on the bright side. You'll be able to spend the next four years dreaming up a bunch of new conspiracy theories about Republicans.

No one will be listening, but you can still dream them up...
