I am not surprised that Louis Farrakhan surrounded himself with so many bodyguards!

Ever since September 11th 2002, Muslims everywhere are looked upon with suspicion and distrust.

Farrakhan, a man who is very much taken up with his own self-importance, loves pageantry, pomp and ceremony. So, it is not surprising he surrounded himself with bodyguards. By surrounding himself with bodyguards, he not only enjoyed a sense of heightened self-importance but also reminded his militant supporters that he and they have enemies and must therefore be vigilant.

Anyway, it is reasonable for Farrakhaners to suspect there may be Muslims-in-disguise (or infilitrators) among them that might seize any opportunity to harm or do him in. Farrakhan's antics may appear rather comical. But to Farrakhan's supporters, he and they are being realistic.

By the way, Saddam Hussein is supposedly very popular in Iraq. (Remember he was returned by acclamation!) Yet he regularly surrounds himself with bodyguards! Most likely Saddam thinks it all adds to his self-importance and projects the image he is no easy pushover.) Ditto for Farrakhan! You know, the ego thing among human species!

By the way, when you close shut your front and back doors at night, it does not necessary mean you don't trust your neighbours. Ditto for Farrakhan with regard to his own people.
