I, too, believe that most of those things are evil.

But I am not closed to the possibility that someone could perhaps make an argument that would make me rethink my position. I can't see the argument at the moment. But if someone came to me who had established with me in person or through publication a reputation for careful and rational thought and who wanted to present to me an argument for why, say, parents owe their children nothing except life and mother's milk, and that it would be better for both society and the children if they were taken from their parents at birth and raised by caring, well trained caretakers with adequate time and resources to raise them ideally, I would at least be wiling to listen, and wouldn't say to them that I am absolutely morally certain in my belief and I am unwilling even to contemplate the possibility that I am wrong.

That, to me, is the level of fansticism that I was objecting to -- those whose position is "my mind is made up, don't confuse me with the facts."
