It was under Reagan that social security taxes were dramatically increased to pay for the retirement of the boomers. Instead of keeping the money in the trust fund, they used it for other purposes and used it to justify tax cuts for the affluent. This historical FACT must be told to the public.

Why don't you supply a link for your info? In point of fact, the SS trust fund has always been in excess and the excess has always been used by the government. Until Reagan's time the excesses were only double digit billions...in 83 the SS taxes were increased and the surplus became triple digit...all used by the government.
