there are always market hotspots. but right now, today, unless i'm remembering completely wrong, an entry level BMW sedan costs about the same as it did 15 years ago. certainly the difference is less than inflation would require.

'course, now they build them in south carolina instead of munich...

JRI -- its not inflation if you are saying 'well, the used VW Bug i drove at university only cost $5k but the fully-loaded Licoln Navigator SUV i need to get my family around in set me back $35k'.

if i drove a Passat today and traded it in tomorrow and bought an S-class Mercedes would you say i had suffered 'inflation'? of couse not.

apples to apples, cars are cheaper now than they have ever been.
