FWIW, I bought a new Camry in 1989 and the list price was $14,400. It was toward the end of the model year and they gave me exactly $2,000 off the sticker. In 1997 I bought another new Camry and the list price was $20,402, don't remember the discount, but it wasn't nearly as good a car as the 1989. I know these prices because my wife keeps all contracts for 100 years. -gg-

That price was without options. Was over 19k with
a couple add-ons. Comparing baseline stickers is not out of line, lay off the 'ludes.
