I think someone linked this post from Jim Willie yesterday:

Message 18169423

It's a great case except for one or two areas: China is a communist country, would you invest your retirement account in Chinese stocks. Not me I wouldn't touch it. As an entreprenuer I would deal and trade with China, but I wouldn't bet the ranch there. Also debt as a percentage of GNP is not too high, I think I saw a figure like 2%. I have debt, I bet you do too. I read a study where Thomas Jefferson recognized debt as a positive position not a negative. Heck if Japan has been debt free for the last 17 years, it hasn't helped them.

I think the US is where the world wants to place their money. Our structure allows for unlimited innovation and leadership. Think of past booms, telecom in the 90's, Computers in the 80's. Oil and services (the home depots and walmarts) of the 70's, the defense and aeronautical sectors in the 60's, Autos and steel prior to that. They all originated here. And led the world (for those that wished to participate) to greater levels, like Japan's auto sector and quality (even that was given to them by our people). We are going to have our up's and down economically, but my bet is the next economic leadership comes from the US, not somewhere else.

Whew, I'm tired, enough ranting today.

PS, i don't know if we're at a bottom yet or not, but the seasonality date of 10/31 is quickly approaching.

Jim
