News on economy, jobs, earnings etc doesn't take this market down.

The catalyst for the bulk of this year's decline, as I remeber it, was the lawsuits against the brokerages. That is something that really had the boys scared.

Now this proforma news is the sort of thing that can take the market down. It is removing part of their ramp arsenal.

They switched to core operating earnings for awhile in the spring when enron and pro forma were at the top of the news. You can call it whatever you want.
