Reuters Mortgage Demand Plummets in Oct. 25 Week Wednesday October 30, 10:10 am ET NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. mortgage applications dropped nearly 20 percent last week, a trade group said on Wednesday, but that trend could reverse this week thanks to lower rates, economists said. The number of mortgage applications fell for the third straight week, reaching its lowest level since the week ended July 19, the Mortgage Bankers Association of America (MBA) said. biz.yahoo.com
