I am not a techie, but I can address the mobility issue of TD-SCDMA..........

It is much more mobile than any other 3G technology including EDGE. Unlike cdma2000, it never seems to stay in one place and get developed. It is mobile in press releases, in company meetings, and in engineering white boards.

In fact, it is so mobile that some call it invisable.

The Janitor has been to Datung and to Nanjing University. I have seen the plans for TD-SCDMA and I know exactly where it is in development. For these reasons I can tell you just how mobile it is. If hell freezes over and a single TD-SCDMA product is made, then QCOM will receive a royalty on it, BUT that will never happen. Never!
