It is not a matter or agreeing or disagreeing. Neither you nor I have met him personally, so all we can do is rely on accounts from people who did meet him back then. Those who did claimed you could see a diminishing intellect.

You can choose to ignore those first hand testimonies and instead believe on your fairy tale version. That is your prerogative.
