There is no dragging. The people and governments of these two countries can see the potential for worldwide disaster if these terrorist supporting regimes are allowed to move into the 21st century unchecked.

You are too hung up on being against Israel. Pretend for a minute that there had not been a Zionist movement and a Jewish state had not come into existence. The history of the Persian Gulf would not be significantly different in Israel's absence. And the dangers of Saddam getting nukes would be the same.
