Re: How are Clawhammer sales doing

Clawhammer's late, Paul, and AMD has been very surprised by the demand for the more expensive Opterons. They appear to have decided to replace most of the $250 Athlon-64's they'd been planning to FAB for the early hammer ramp with $500 Opterons.

They need the money.

AMD has already made a sale of 10,000 Opterons to Cray to be used to build the world's most powerful computer. It seems to Itanic was too slow, ran too hot, was too expensive, and wasn't compatible with anything - so the design win went to AMD's Opteron, instead.
