I suppose for many who were in the middle of the High Tech millionaires saga, sure it must look identical... from rag to riches and back again to rags... But not everyone had their wealth locked in the hightech stocks. Much has to do with expectations and the system 'forcing' and cleaning the "wrongs"... One thing that I am not certain how it will develop is the fact that many will not be able to retire the way they thought they would. But does that mean total, absolute disaster ? I do not know. Adjustments ? most probably. This country would have to get to the point that Argentina has reached. I honestly doubt that such will happen. I mean there would have to be a tremendous amount of stupid people doing a lot of stupid things ..... ON TOP of what it has been done. Maybe I am wrong... and maybe all the chit that is about to fall on all of us has reached the point of no return... if that's the case... well, so be it. still, there will be opportunities for those who will be willing to do what it is needed to come ahead... I mean people still need services and products... and it will be a matter to adjust. Le't me put it this way... let's say life is a soccer game,,, or even a foot ball game [you know, the one where they use their hands duh - g] There is a position in each sport (sweeper in soccer --I know because I played it) and I believe it is the line-backer in football). In these positions, you NEVER commit, until you are absolutely certain your move will be successful, because if you fail, serious consequences will ensue. So... the real smart individuals never "commit" to a position that cannot be undone... I mean one "floats" and float and float.... until the right moment comes along... then zooom, action is swift and efficient. For now, let's say that all the shennigans and going ons of the economy and the stock market is like the linesman getting plastered in hamburger hill, but nothing really serious has happened --- YET. In the background companies like QLGC.... ACS.... MSFT and others (I do not want to argue the specific fundamentals of these companies), my point is... these are the companies that know how to make money in the worst of times and/or their financial strength allows them to carry the day... until... the others begin to heal... including the "consumer" Of course the possibility always exists that when these sweepers or line backers go to commit, they could be mistaken in their move or taken out by the "evil ones" -g... If that's the case, as I have said it before... I will meet you at the soup mission... [I'll try to figer some spice to make the soup a little tastier and will sell you some eh? -g]
