I know I'm being a bit if a fear monger but I think we have reason to worry I have 2 simple rules about "worry" 1. If there is something I can do about the source of my "worry" well... I do not worry, I do it, and I take action so that worry is no more. If there is NOTHING I can do to change that source of my worry... well hell... why should I worry, there is NOTHING I can do, so no matter, whatever will happen, it will.... Rates are down and going lower because we can't stimulate the economy. well chit... find something that can be productive and take advantage of them... at worst, high rates can be seen as though companies will be in less trouble than otherwise. As a result our currency is not as safe as it once was. so big deal... the US perhaps ought to export more... and a cheap currency makes US products cheaper... true, it is, al imports become so expensive... so this would be a way to... BUY AMERICAN. You know, those labels that one sees about.... BUY AMERICAN seems to me is all "air" because what are most people doing... they do not buy something because it is "American" they buy it because they need it or want it and they try to buy the best there is at the best possible price. So... If the dollar goes lower, that would mean that the American products at least would be more competitive against the rest. So it becomes one of those things that you can't have your cake and eat it too. Remember that for years American business trumpeted the great benefits of democracy and free trade. Indeed they help this country grow particularly when John Wayne would go to the different lands of Keemo Sabies and bought for cheap all the raw materials, brought them here, manufactured products and then re-sold them to Keemo Sabee for a lot more... Ach javol Fritz, life vas gut nicht war ? -g Problem is.... Keemo sabee learnt all about democracy, free markets, and most importantly, they learned how to make cars... (and lots of other things...) Well hell, John Wayne, you damned traitor, why did you go out and shared all the secrets ?? A = because at the time, it sounded cool eh ? (and it was in the best interests of the US of A) --nothing wrong with that. So what now.... Well, conditions have changed and unless the US goes through serious change, one is expecting to be creamed... particularly when the unions are pretending to squeeze the last competitive enterprise in this country. I would say that unless American Labor becomes even more and better prepared... they are facing very tough competition from a bunch of lotsa people all over the world.... "no somos machos, pero somos muchos" -gg (We are not machos, but we are a lot of us) a play on words --in Spanish, not English) Now factor in global unrest where terror can have a serious impact on all economies it gives us further reason to worry. yeah well....look at Israel... they live in the middle of a bunch of TNT lovers with a rare passion to explode in a burts of.... well, guts -gg Yet Israel thrives.... As I said.... All we are really facing is a big time adjustment... that'sall.... maybe the fact that I've been as vocal about my worries should serve as the perfect contrarian view but I can't help but worry. that may help you in .... expel the bad spirits that haunt ya, which is good, maybe, in addition, you ought to go see a Shaman or witch doctor... or similar... but why worry ? Remember... what a great American Philosopher once said.... What, me worried ? I'll admit to being a worry wart but its not because I'm total uninformed. I may not have all my facts perfect but there are enough issues to raise an eyebrow I suppose that you could think of all the possible negative issues around the world and then REALLY make you worried sick.
