>>Infuriating. I would have done the jail time.<<

So you would do jail time, eh?

Well, you wanna know something. Sounds like it is not a bad idea considering what a jailbird (a guy originally from Europe) once told me...........

"Canadian jails were pretty comfy, the food was more than OK and inmates got the chance to pump iron to be strong and sock some folks when they got out, and occasionally an inmate is allowed to sleep with his girlfriend in a special trailer."

Looks like you won't be missing much if you were to do the time in there, eh?

He also noted that it was like travelling in a train except that the train was going nowhere.

Harding, the cabinetmaker, was an asshole! He should have used subtle means to convey his message. He could have asked why the Moslems were given a special room and asked his buddies to ask questions, too. In that way, he could have started to make people think and then urge folks to find out about Islam themselves without being offensive.

But he was too much of a straight arrow, and he is paying the price for his impulsiveness and self-righteousness. Ah!
I guess that is, after all, quite understandable considering the deluge of anger, fear and outrage and hysteria brought on by 9/11.

I don't know whether this is of any consolation to you: a renowned novelist once wrote, "The law is an ass."
