The juvenile stuff can stay in the schoolyard. Doesn't add to one's credibility.

Amen!

Does anyone moderate the moderators

Yep. The site admin moderates the moderators and reviews every post deletion for appropriateness, meaning it's got to be a personal attack, harassment, spam, etc. Moderators have found themselves suddenly ex-moderators or even ex-members by deleting posts inappropriately. And once the admin restores a post, nobody else can delete it.

It's a different approach from that used here, but I'm not quite 100% sold on it being better. It is in some regards and isn't in others. I think that the net results are better, but really only time will prove/disprove that.

Does the same policy exist for bashers?

Depends on one's definition of "bashers". I personally have a real problem with that label being used for everyone who isn't long a stock. Usually, that terminology gets thrown around a lot when discussions are degrading into flamewars. The kind where, when I was working at SI, I'd get inundated with emails claiming that "paid bashers" were speaking poorly of companies like DGIV, RMIL, and MTEI and needed to be shown the door.

Opposing views should be backed by some sort of qualified opinion or facts. Not just cause "I said so".

As long as the same rules apply to both sides, I'm fine with basically whatever the rules are. If someone is a "basher" because they say "This company sucks because I say so", then the label "pumper" would apply just as well to someone who says "This company rocks because I or the company says so."

I don't get along with the idea that "bashers" should have more responsibility for providing factual support, though. Sometimes opinions are just opinions and all opinions matter. It's up to the reader to decide whose opinions matter more.

Don't know if I really answered your question or if I went off on a tangent. I tend to do that when I see the word "basher".
