Yes, C2, I admit I quite like the odd caricature too.

On recycling, I know what you mean. I spent most of the last day in India [in Mumbai, nee Bombay] watching the view out of our hotel window, seeing the comings and goings. There was a bit rubbish bin, about a metre high and 2 metres across.

It was the focal point for a lot of activity. Various people came and put stuff in. Various species came and took stuff out.

Bottom of the pecking order were birds [crows being top of the bird pecking order and I don't recall other birds such as sparrow which would normally be around but maybe there were some]. Then cats, then dogs, then cattle then women. A dog tried to see a woman off, but when it was hit in the face with a can thrown across, it figured out who was boss.

The bin didn't fill up too quickly! The women had bags and collected plastic, cans, bottles etc. The herbivores ate anything made of plant stuff. The scavengers and carnivores ate any scraps.

There is huge waste here and nearly all our rubbish could be recycled if done in the right way - using people on the dole and other benefits to do the work of sorting at a central place rather than on the side of the road.

That would cut the number of people on benefits [many of whom are lifestyle selectors rather than needing help], save landfill costs and collect a lot of valuable materials for fuel or recycling.
