I know people don't like them, but when you're trading around cash, it has to make a certain amount of sense (to the management, at least).

OTOH, who's going to munch them in this environment ? Pharma don't seem to have the guts (cf GSK/EXEL), and there aren't that many biotechs with strong enough stock - or enough cash - to be indiscriminate buyers.
