Illmarinen, we have both 120v and 220v power sources.

Saunas, Spas, whirlpool tubs, swimming pool heaters, stoves, Air conditioners, clothes washers, clothes dryers, solar inverters, air compressors, large table saws, furnaces, water heaters, wall ovens, and cooktops usually are wired as 220v loads here in the US.

Most of us don't own spas because despite their 220v wiring, they tend to double our energy consumption which causes more than double the energy cost.
