Yes, I picked up on that. What I don't have a theory on is how that will affect the dynamics of the thread. Would it change the roster of participants on the thread, the tone, the subject matter (other than the absence of calls for an apology, that is)? Would affiliations change? Surely things wouldn't revert to what used to be, or would they?

Yes. You did apologize. It was a classy thing to do. It would have been churlish to hold a grudge after that since the "offense" was personal to me and since I believed you were sincere. That incident gave me a new perspective on you as a person. And our on-line relationship has been much better for it....
