Forget the banks , they are clueless, go to a gold dealer in downtown Vancouver and wheel and deal. Maple leaf prices are quoted but I can t remember where the link is, I would start with Bob johnson `s site. The premium over spot should be no more than 5% for maples. half ounce are more expensive for same total weight of gold purchased, so unless you expect to eventually have to use them in an TEOTWAWKI scenario, I would go with one ounce maple or more. Commissions are higher on coins, less on bullion, depends what your aim is in buying gold. If you are not in VR or VIC than, I suppose I don`t know ....
