TC,

<< I have used the free popupstopper for quite a while. It's ok but it bugs me to have to hold the shift key to open some links. >>

I got used to that very quickly. Kind of no problemo. easy to do the override.

<< Have you noticed anything that the pro version does for you vs what the free version does? >>

I'm embarrassed to say I can't really recall the specific features I upgraded for but there wre some. My recall was that they were subtle but significant enough to subscribe the modestly priced Pro version.

I can't recall if the capability to set an override (for selected sites) on the minor distraction you refer to above was one of the reasons I upgraded. That may have been a feature of the freeware version but I'm thinking it was not.

I do appreciate shareware and if I find freeware I really like and there is a pay for shareware advanced version available I upgrade if I'm using it consistently. Obviously that is really what encourages shareware developers to continue to develop and bless the developers for making our life easy.

Free Pop-Up Stopper v. Pop-Up Stopper Pro

TC: Here is a list of comparative features in Free Pop-Up Stopper v. Pop-Up Stopper Pro. Basically the feature I was willing to spend the $19.95 for was the the capability to selectively allow pop-ups based upon site. There are several sites I frequently visit where I use that feature:

panicware.com

Pop-Up Stopper FREE features basic pop-up and pop-under ad blocking technology. You may be required to hold down the CTRL key to access new links on web pages and email. The Pro and Companion DO NOT have this limitation as they feature a more robust technology.

Best,
