Oh. Well, I know nothing about Mongols and Buddhism, but having no reason to doubt your accuracy, then it brings up an interesting point of logic.

• If the "Islamo-fascists" are killing non-believers to make the world safe,
• If "Christiano-fascists" kill non-believers to make the world safe
• If "Buddhao-fascists" were killing non-believers to make the world safe,
• and well, if "Israeli Hitwomen" are offing ordinary park-bench-sitting non-believers to make the world safe if one's tin-foil helmet is tight enough to pinch off peripheral vision so that all the black helipcopters are designated by a singlular prime number digit sequence...

Then...

That kinda boils down to a junior high-school case of "my God can kick your God's ass!" Of course, you can't outlaw religion, because then you'd have complaints about "Atheisto-Fascists" killing any kind of belief that would make the world safe. That's a whole new problem altogether now. So what's that leave? I don't suppose all the various religions could just kill off their own fascists and let everybody else go to work on Monday, to earn a living, like they're s'posed to, could they?

Have you read Chambers, "The Devil's Horsemen"? It is quite comprehensive in it's coverage of Genghis, his sons and relatives (Such as Kublah Kahn) and the motivation for their actions is well explained -- ie., Mohammed I. Unfortunately, the Mongols did not seek to destroy foreign cultures; Batu, one son and “the Kahn of the Golden Hoard,” is the best example. IMHO
